Most people wouldn’t believe me if I said that I used to be medicated for depression, but I was! My “Happy Pills” were Citalopram… and my “Sleepy Pills” were Tamazopam. I hated taking pills. I felt weak. I felt like a failure. I felt like giving up at times, and by that I mean… completely …Continue Reading »
Today we’re checking out the topic of: “How To Be Happy?”
Sometimes there are things in your life that sporadically make you happy right? Like, seeing “so and so” for an couple of hours or listening to that song that reminds you of a happy time … but imagine if you could actually be happier… more often.. and for longer periods.. like always maybe? Would THAT be cool???Continue Reading »
In my experience when you give and give and give to others… you get, in return, the coolest “Out of the blue” things that come your way. I’ve been given some VERY cool stuff in my nearly 31 years, from free flights, free vouchers, free dinning room tables, free coaching… and I’m grateful everyContinue Reading »
I’m sitting here in my home office after an amazing coffee this morning. When I’m out having coffee, especially when I’m by myself, it’s often a reflective time and today I really got centered around the notion of being passionate about what you do and how that equates to happiness. For me I have two main “passions” in life – coffee and helping people. Easy! There’s a lovely man I call “Brucy” at my local café. He’s one of those guys that you just fall in love with from the moment you first meet him. He’s so caring and attentive, remembers all his customer’s names laughs his way through his day. As I type this blog he’s cruising around, delivering exquisite coffees to customers each of whom, after having communicated with him, are left with a massive grinner.
I just love love love bringing joy to the world in every possible way. Making people smile from ear to ear, laugh till they cry or giggle till they fart and this is so ingrained in me that it’s just part of who I am now. Sometimes after I’ve cracked someone up, or helped them turn a frown upside down I’ll find myself thinking, “Shivers that was pretty cool! Where’s my next person to fill with happiness?” Now, I’m not saying this to royally blow my own head up … I’m saying this to show you how so very easy it is to bring joy to the world.Continue Reading »

When we think of “giving” we often think of giving to others our time, money, a gift or some knowledge. Today I’m reminded of the importance of giving to myself as a necessary agent in personal happiness.
You know, I completely love giving to others! It’s fun, it’s funky and it fills me with joy! BUT for years I considered the concept of giving to myself as selfish (and even to the extent that it would take from others if I gave to myself).
