Sometimes it’s the small things that count. Yesterday I was at a cafe and I had been there ten minutes, ordered my coffee, sat down.. and logged into the internet with my handy dandy mac book pro. I was excited to blog, blog and blog!
Then… I received a text message from my sister-in-law saying that my niece really wanted to see me and asked where I was. Part of me just wanted to “ignore” the message (“Oppsie daisy, I didn’t get the message”)… after all I’d only been there ten minutes right?! But … the larger part of me thought “How much fun can I give this little girl?”… and in giving her a butt load of fun… I totally knew that I’d have a butt load of fun too!
A few moments later my niece arrived! Then with another coffee in my tummy (a Long Happy Ristretto – which was literally a coffee with a happy face on it because my favourite barista is a super cool chick who knows I love her coffee art) I grabbed my niece’s hand and we ran out in to the parking lot, in full vision of the other cafe patrons, and played. I twirdled her round and round, played horsy, played tag… really anything that made her giggle with delight! I, consequently giggled AND I got loads of smiles from the other patrons as they watched us.
The fact of the matter is this: I wanted to write blogs – that was my intention of going to the cafe – but the pleasure of giving this little girl special time with her aunty was amazing… the happy ripple effect happened again! I love that ripple… keep the ripples flowing folks.
