I am seriously LMAO at the heading above. Here’s why…
Today I went for a killer run and by that I mean a run that was challenging, but loads of fun and very rewarding afterwards. I was by myself as I was running up this fabulous hill and then felt this dangly sensation from my ears!
“Oh Crap!” I thought to myself. I’d forgotten to take out my earrings before running (something that I nearly always do as I tend to wear dangly earrings which are simply a pain in the butt whilst running).Continue Reading »

It’s been a day since I was home alone in the middle of a 5.7 and 6.3 earthquake in my hometown Christchurch, New Zealand. It’s also 4 months after an unforgettable 6.3 quake in February 22 this year, an event which took many lives.
That February quake was a shocker! So, for those miles and miles away, unable to comprehend… imagine this. It’s early afternoon. I’d just finished a business call via Skype and was about to head into town to my favourite cafe to coach a client. Then BANG! The house started shaking incredibly violently, the power immediately went out,Continue Reading »

There’s a lovely man I call “Brucy” at my local café. He’s one of those guys that you just fall in love with from the moment you first meet him. He’s so caring and attentive, remembers all his customer’s names laughs his way through his day. As I type this blog he’s cruising around, delivering exquisite coffees to customers each of whom, after having communicated with him, are left with a massive grinner.
I just love love love bringing joy to the world in every possible way. Making people smile from ear to ear, laugh till they cry or giggle till they fart and this is so ingrained in me that it’s just part of who I am now. Sometimes after I’ve cracked someone up, or helped them turn a frown upside down I’ll find myself thinking, “Shivers that was pretty cool! Where’s my next person to fill with happiness?” Now, I’m not saying this to royally blow my own head up … I’m saying this to show you how so very easy it is to bring joy to the world.Continue Reading »
Sometimes the concept of connecting with someone may scare you! Heck, I remember vividly wanting to connect with someone… so badly… but because I’d felt so hurt in the past by this person… I just didn’t know what to do. Need for connection was being massively sidelined by this crazy desire to protect myself.Continue Reading »
Ok… So if I was to say to you right now, “Dude, what’s your favorite smoothie flavor?” What would it be? Banana; Banana and Raspberry; Avocado, Celery and Carrot; Berry Compilation…? There are SO many options, it’s endless right?
Well, knowing what you want ingredients of your favorite smoothie is kind of like knowing what the ingredients are that make YOU happy…Continue Reading »
I am sitting listening to my mother play piano duets with her friend right now as I type this blog! I just couldn’t wait! Had to pull out my computer and write to you all!
I’ve been listening here for about an hour… just watching, listening, laughing with them as they flitter and stumble over the keys, clapping as they finish some pieces … but most of all I’ve just been a fly on the wall playing witness to the cool connection between two kindered spirits as they play their hearts out! What also apparent the fun they’re having learning new songs, helping each other through tricky parts (sometimes those fingers just can’t seem to go fast enough on the keys).Continue Reading »
Have you noticed how many people smile at airports? It’s so freaking cool people watching at airports – watching the massive smiles as people reconnecting, friends meeting and lovers greeting. It’s just the same in cafes, I’ve noticed – and I spend enough time in cafes to know this to be the case.
So, what is it about cafes and airports that increase happiness? Well, we could write a masters thesis about this… or just cut to the chase.Continue Reading »
Since I was a kid I always LOVED waving at strangers out the back of the car window as we were driving on one of those long “are we there yet” type family holidays. My two brothers and I would gleefully at other holiday makers who were, for the most part, visibly excited to have three little kids waving at them. The real fun came when they’d pass us, and then perhaps stop for a short break, and then they’d catch up to us again…
